Our editorial team is responsible for developing the Foundation’s circular economy narrative through various lenses, including materials, industries, and global challenges (such as climate change and biodiversity loss).
Working in collaboration with other teams at the Foundation, our Editorial team develops ground-breaking reports, papers, articles, and other content for our audiences. You will be responsible for leading this team of full-time editors; developing the editorial vision and strategy, and ensuring we retain our position as the thought leader in the circular economy.
Role & Responsibilities
Coordinating the overarching editorial vision and EMF strategy. This includes collaborating on the short-term and long-term editorial goals across written content, as well as the coverage, target audience and tone for each.
Identifying editorial and content opportunities; proposing ideas for forthcoming themes, ensuring we remain the global reference for the circular economy.
Ensuring cohesion and alignment with our editorial guidelines, tone of voice and framing in all written content, across different geographies; contributing to the overall content strategy and content development process.
Upholding the quality of written materials and putting in place clear processes for editorial quality. Maintaining oversight of key pieces of content with the relevant editor before they are published.
Contributing to storylines and the structural editing of papers, reports, books, long-form articles, and other content for publication on internal and external channels.
Leading and overseeing the editorial team; providing support in the management of workloads, priority of projects, encouraging their overall development and representing their interests in internal forums.
Managing third-party and freelance writers and editors where necessary.
Your profile:
A Degree in a related field is highly desirable, but we also value experience in a writing-related role in journalism, business, government, or an NGO.
Knowledge and understanding of the circular economy and the wider economic and policy landscape would be beneficial.
Evidence of planning and managing projects with tight timelines and competing priorities with senior stakeholder engagement.
Experience of leading and managing a team in a fast-moving and diverse environment.
Evidence of crafting new areas of narrative using excellent writing skills to produce well-structured, clear, concise copy; bringing across arguments persuasively. We will ask for evidence of this during our interview process.
Proven ability to storyline complex concepts and large amounts of information in highly structured forms.
Knowledgeable and familiar with industry-standard audience data and metrics.

Salary package: Circa 55K dependent on experience level plus generous holiday allowance (25 days plus discretionary extra days leave) generous parental leave; enhanced pension options/private health scheme after 6 months; wellbeing programme.
