The Innovation team, part of our New Plastics Economy (NPEC) initiative is looking for a Senior Analyst to join our UK team. The Innovation team aims to identify, promote and guide innovative solutions that fit into a circular economy for plastic through engagement with our corporate partners and innovators as well as internal insights and analysis work. You will provide instrumental support to further our upstream innovation agenda by developing and helping to provide the research basis for our thought leadership pieces as well as supporting collaborative projects that help us move from commitment to action.
Role and Responsibilities:
You will be part of a team that generates new insights and catalyses action towards a circular economy for plastic. We do this by inspiring and challenging our stakeholders through developing thought leadership content, tools, assets and workshops. You will help to push the thinking by assessing available data and insights and translating them into compelling and accessible content to engage our target audiences. Your role will involve:
Stakeholder engagement. Working with a diverse set of stakeholders from partner companies and philanthropic funders, other NGOs, experts, and policymakers to support the design and facilitation of meaningful stakeholder interactions through virtual (calls, emails) and in-person formats (meetings and workshops).
Research, analysis, and developing content. Catalyse action: Help our knowledge to get beyond the pages of a PDF, and drive measurable impact. The ways this can be done will vary tremendously, but will probably include one or several of the following elements: 1-to-1 engagement with a wide range of stakeholders ranging from companies, cities, policymakers and academics; keynote presentations, designing and facilitating workshops, designing and facilitating ongoing working groups.
Knowledge transfer. Packaging knowledge and insights into tools and assets in a way that is easy for external audiences to understand and engage with. Supporting the development and facilitation of workshops and other events.
Entrepreneurship. The role is an opportunity to own distinct pieces of work and influence the way a circular economy drives systemic change. This requires creative ideas and proactivity in being a thought leader to a broad audience of stakeholders.
You have good analytical skills and an eye for presentation of data and extraction of trends and conclusions from data.
At least 3+ previous experience within a business environment. A start-up or entrepreneurial environment is preferred, combining analytical skills with client-facing work.
A strong academic record and degree level qualifications in business, economics, science, or other relevant discipline; and/or a track record in entrepreneurship.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English: the ability to interact effectively at all levels of an organisation, including senior stakeholders. Evidence of facilitating workshops would be a distinct advantage.
Passionate about tackling plastics-oriented system challenges; some experience in the plastic value chain would be really helpful in this role.
