It is based on three principles, driven by design: eliminate waste and pollution, circulate products and materials (at their highest value), and regenerate nature.. Our funding comes from philanthropic organisations such as charitable foundations, and businesses which access our circular economy events, knowledge exchange, tools and resources through our Network.
As part of the Philanthropy team, you will be contributing to our relationship fundraising approach; developing and managing both prospective and existing philanthropic donor relationships and funding portfolios; identifying, accessing and helping to secure non-corporate restricted and unrestricted funds essential to the Foundation’s activities; and contributing to influencing and shaping the thinking and (ultimately) actions of global philanthropic organisations.
Role & Responsibilities
Identifying potential funding sources; utilising prospect research, networking and the EMF network.
Developing a compelling narrative and budget for new and existing activities with both project and EMF teams.
Managing funding proposals from start to finish – preparing and submitting on time funding proposals with project and EMF teams, and tracking application progress.
Managing high quality internal and external relationships with a view to securing long-term funding. Includes preparing and submitting on time funder requirements, liaising with project and EMF teams: regular reporting for multiple funders, impact reporting, communications reporting, and financial reporting.
Contributing to the development of the overall philanthropic strategy of the Foundation.
Your profile:
Degree level or equivalent in a related field is highly desirable.
Evidence of collaborative working and senior stakeholder engagement, both internal and external.
Proven ability to manage complex projects and approaches and synthesise into simple and compelling narratives.
Evidence of constructively managing funding needs and expectations, and ability to give clear guidance on the management of funding relationships, is desirable.
Knowledge and understanding of the circular economy and the wider economic and policy landscape would be beneficial.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Knowledge and understanding of basic financial literacy with the ability to develop competency.
The ability to work autonomously.
