This new role will be key in taking our philanthropy programme to the next level, securing new multi-year funds and establishing lasting relationships. You will require experience of leading or making an active contribution in securing substantial funds, identifying, accessing, and bringing new funding relationships to maturity in all respects. You will support the development of high-quality proposals with Foundation delivery teams and take responsibility for the quality management and development of these relationships. This new senior fundraising position will perform a critical role delivering our ambitious strategy as an integral part of a high-performing and super-supportive team.
The nature of global challenges demands transformation of the economy rather than incremental change to business-as-usual approaches; transformation which is necessary at unprecedented scale and pace to deliver national and collective commitments notably with regards to climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution.
The Ellen MacArthur Foundation has demonstrated that such a transition is entirely possible through its mobilisation of the circular economy; as a framework for systems solutions and transformation, the circular economy can help to address the 45% of GHG emissions that result from the way goods and food are produced and consumed, and the 90% of biodiversity loss driven by the extraction and processing of natural resources.
Having substantially shifted the mindset and action of industry and influenced national and regional policy approaches, we are a respected, independent, and highly influential leader with the platform to accelerate global action. Philanthropy, which covers both Major Donor and Trust fundraising streams, is pivotal to deliver our mission– typically accounting for more than 50% of the charity’s overall income.

What we do
The Ellen MacArthur Foundation develops and promotes the idea of a circular economy. We work with, and inspire, business, academia, policymakers, and institutions to mobilise systems solutions at scale, globally. Our mission is to accelerate the transition to a circular economy.
Our vision is a new economic system that delivers better outcomes for people and the environment. Business models, products, and materials are designed to increase use and reuse, replicating the balance of the natural world, where nothing becomes waste and everything has value. A circular economy, increasingly built on renewable energy and materials, is distributed, diverse, and inclusive.

Job applicants will receive equal treatment regardless of age, disability, gender, gender reassignment, marital or civil partner status, pregnancy or maternity, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation or any other characteristic protected by the laws or regulations in the locations where we operate.
