Plastics Pact Network
A globally aligned network of local groups working to put a circular economy for plastic into...
Meer met minder plastic (the Dutch Plastics Pact) was launched by the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment in 2019. Its members include numerous grocery chains, brand owners, packaging manufacturers, plastic recyclers, and environmental organisations, all committed to achieving the following by 2025:
Ensuring all plastic products and packaging will be reusable where possible and appropriate, and in any case, 100% recyclable
Using 20% less plastic compared to the reference year 2017, by avoiding unnecessary use, increased reuse and alternative, sustainable materials
Effectively recycling at least 70% of all single-use plastic products and packaging disposed of in the Netherlands to a high standard
Using the highest possible amount of recycled plastics in all single-use plastic packaging and products, with an average of at least 35% per participating plastics-using company
The Ellen MacArthur Foundation works to accelerate the transition to a circular economy. We develop and promote the idea of a circular economy, and work with business, academia, policymakers, and institutions to mobilise systems solutions at scale, globally.
