The Mexico Plastics Pact (PPMX) is the most recent pact of the Network. Launched in 2024, it is a collaborative platform for action that brings together 18 members including companies, governments, academia and civil society to define and implement joint strategies to accelerate the transition to a circular economycircular economyA systems solution framework that tackles global challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss, waste, and pollution. It is based on three principles, driven by design: eliminate waste and pollution, circulate products and materials (at their highest value), and regenerate nature. for plastics.
Led by WWF Mexico, its objective is to join forces and promote concrete initiatives and contribute to have a better national and local policy, aligned with the Global Treaty.
Currently the PPMX will be focused on the circularity of specific material such as PS, flexibles, as well as the launching of an innovation challenge.
