Join this session where thought leaders Carolyn Steel and Harriet Friedmann will discuss the interdependence between cities and countryside and the opportunity for cities to reimagine food systems. Stephen Otieno from C40 will provide inspiring real-world examples where circular economycircular economyA systems solution framework that tackles global challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss, waste, and pollution. It is based on three principles, driven by design: eliminate waste and pollution, circulate products and materials (at their highest value), and regenerate nature. principles have been applied to place food at the heart of city strategies, creating strong rural-urban linkages in cities in Africa.
