The Circular Design Leaders are a group of engaged senior design leaders within the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Network with a circular economycircular economyA systems solution framework that tackles global challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss, waste, and pollution. It is based on three principles, driven by design: eliminate waste and pollution, circulate products and materials (at their highest value), and regenerate nature. agenda. Their ambition is to accelerate the adoption of circular design in their organisations and inspire the global design audience.
In September 2022, the Foundation’s Circular Design team, together with IDEO, met with 16 Circular Design Leaders at the CY Design School in St. Germain-en-Laye for a three-day speculative design sprint. During the sprint, the group explored what the future design function within a circular-ready organisation would look like.
