What are Ellen MacArthur Foundation network sprints?
Sprints are immersive, hands-on events designed to tackle shared circular economy implementation challenges. Each participating organisation brings a business-driven project on a common theme. Through a two-four day process, we aim to accelerate the progress of your circular initiatives, propelled by exchange in a pre-competitive environment.
Hosted by the Foundation in collaboration with external partners, sprint participants will apply research, tools, and design methods to their own business, to turn theory into actionable ideas and solutions. Around 10-20 organisations from various sectors will be in the room, with attendance based on a specific participant profile.
The structure of each sprint is tailored to its theme, but typically involves exploring research and inspiration from experts in the field, identifying challenges, developing, testing, and pitching ideas, and preparing for continued development after the event.
Why come to a Sprint?
Sprints are a unique space to both learn and exchange, while focusing on action and implementation. By joining a sprint, you will:

It is based on three principles, driven by design: eliminate waste and pollution, circulate products and materials (at their highest value), and regenerate nature. initiative
Exposure to, and testing of, new tools and methods to support you in your role

Opportunities to exchange and collaborate with other leading organisations in our Network
Sprints are a slightly longer format compared with previous Foundation workshops, responding to a need for more granularity on specific topics and action-oriented outcomes. This focused time allows us to go deeper to really help you drive circular economy implementation.
What are the topics of forthcoming sprints?
In 2025, we are continuing to focus on topics that respond to critical implementation challenges highlighted by our Network: the role of marketers and marketing for new circular offerings, creating compelling business cases to gain organisational buy-in, and building circular supply chains.
