Focus Area: ACR+ is an international network of cities and regions sharing expertise and knowledge about sustainable resource management, through prevention at source, reuse and recycling, and accelerating the transition towards a circular economy.
ACR+ supports capacity building of local and regional authorities via:
Expertise exchange opportunities (events, webinars) between cities and regions;
Gathering, production and dissemination of knowledge on material resource management and circular economycircular economyA systems solution framework that tackles global challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss, waste, and pollution. It is based on three principles, driven by design: eliminate waste and pollution, circulate products and materials (at their highest value), and regenerate nature. (newsletters, technical publications including benchmarking, methodological guidance, case studies and factsheets);
Support to projects and visibility opportunities highlighting good practices and concrete cooperation.
ACR+ addresses diverse areas, like operational instruments (measuring material resources performances on diverse flows and sectors like construction, food, municipal waste and mixed fractions), awareness-raising (as coordinator of the European Week for Waste Reduction), legal and economic instruments (EPR, circular procurement, etc.), cooperation and capacity building (expertise exchanges on diverse topics like integrated solid waste management, innovation in resource management, tourism, sports events, etc.).
