This topic area shows how the circular economy can help keep plastic in the economy and out of the...
It was over an ironing board when Jason realized that many of the every day products we buy are 90% water , with only small amount of active ingredients. This massive inefficiency in how consumer products are designed, manufactured and sold is why billions of pounds of wasted plastic pollute the land, sea and air every year. Something had to be done. This was the inspiration that created Replenish, a reusable bottle and concentrate refill platform that makes it easy for consumers to add their own water, at the point of use instead of at a far away factory, to make the products they use every day. Replenish aims to break the endless cycle of waste in today’s fast moving consumer goods industry.
The Ellen MacArthur Foundation works to accelerate the transition to a circular economy. We develop and promote the idea of a circular economy, and work with business, academia, policymakers, and institutions to mobilise systems solutions at scale, globally.
